REQUEST A FRIAR

The Order of Christ the Saviour (OCS) is a catholic community of cooperator and ordained Dominican Friars in The Episcopal Church (Anglican Communion). OCS Friars are specially trained in Thomistic theology, healing and deliverance ministry, Mariology, and the rich tradition of Anglo-Catholicism. Dominicans have a unique expression of dispersed monasticism in the life of the Church. Known as zealous preachers with a hunger for Truth and a strong devotion to the sacraments, Dominicans carry a reputation for being mystical teachers who love Jesus and desire to share the knowledge and love of God. A motto of the historic Ordo Prædicatorum founded by Saint Dominic is “to contemplate, and to share the fruits of one’s contemplation”, leveraging the scholarship of Dominican saints such as Thomas Aquinas and Catherine of Siena.

​The Order is happy to accommodate requests to guest preach, lead a retreat, or spend time with your group in other ways that are spiritually formative. Please allow for 1-3 days for us to make initial contact regarding your request. Requests will be matched with a member of the Order based upon expertise, availability, and location of the request. We are blessed to share sacred time with you.

    • Please note that the brothers are only able to participate in liturgy in accordance with the customs of the Book of Common Prayer and/or other ordinarily authorized liturgies of The Episcopal Church, or liturgies approved for special use in the Order.
    • We ask that the requesting party assure all local applicable policies and diocesan protocols are followed. Requests that require special permission from the Bishop Diocesan should be made well in advance as a courtesy to the Local Ordinary.
    • A customary honorarium is always appreciated, but never required. Donations directly support the ministry of the Order, and are always tax-deductible. In most cases, parishes refer to standard diocesan rates for guest supply, in addition to travel expenses (if applicable). Donations can be made by check or via our secure PayPal portal.
